The “European network for research and training in psychodynamic psychiatry” is a non profit organization which was founded in 2014 by a group of researchers, mainly psychiatrists and psychotherapists.
The association aims at enhancing communication between experienced therapists and researchers and it is committed to the development of a national and international network for those engaged in psychodynamic psychiatry, focusing especially on European countries.
The term psychodynamic psychiatry encompasses all approaches that take in account the role of the unconscious mind in the onset and treatment of mental disorders.
Netforpp Europa carries out studies on the history of psychodynamic psychiatry and promotes research on the theoretical foundations and on the clinical practice of current psychodynamic approaches, paying special attention to the “Teoria della nascita” developed by the Italian psychiatrist Massimo Fagioli.
The association also organizes meetings, conferences and exhibitions on topics concerning psychiatry, and in collaboration with other Italian and foreign institutions it promotes study days and refresher courses.
The training activities organized by Netforpp Europa are open to members of specific professions and to all those interested in deepening their knowledge of psychiatric issues.
